Hear from librarians and representatives from Books on Tape about best practices. You’ll walk away from this session with tools to help you promote audiobooks to your patrons. Featuring BOT Associate Marketing Director, Jennifer Rubins, BOT Sales Director, Sharon Parker, and librarian Magan Szwarek.

Creating an immersive recording of a visual graphic novel is an audiobook production challenge—learn how author Victoria Jamieson worked with Penguin Random House Audio producer Julianna Wilson to adapt her Newbery Honor Book ROLLER GIRL as an audiobook, narrated by a full cast with sound effects recorded at a live roller derby. Wilson and narrator Hillary Huber, who voices Grandmere in the recording of R.J. Palacio’s WHITE BIRD, will also discuss the recording process.

Listening to podcasts and audiobooks are both growing among patrons—and authors Dani Shapiro (Inheritance, Family Secrets podcast), Gretchen Rubin (Outer Order, Inner Calm, Happier podcast), and Charles Duhigg (The Power of Habit, How To podcast) know their way around a microphone. Audiobook producer Julie Wilson moderates a discussion on how their experience as authors and narrators inform their work and translate to both audio mediums.
