What happened to your rental service?
As you may know, many of our titles are available at most public libraries. What you may not know is that it is the existence of this substantial library segment that supported our acquisition of the wide array of audiobooks to which you have grown accustomed. The B-O-T library business has been growing so rapidly and diversely in the last few years, that we were compelled to seek larger distribution and fulfillment options. After evaluating several possibilities, we decided to move to a new fulfillment facility in January, 2005. Due to these operational changes, Books on Tape made the difficult decision to discontinue our rental service.
What if I want to check the status of an outstanding gift certificate?
If you are holding an unredeemed or partially redeemed Books on Tape gift certificate, please contact Consumer Service for information and assistance. Books on Tape will no longer be selling new gift certificates or accepting will call orders.
Can I still purchase used rental products?
Unfortunately, our used rental products were only available for a limited time or while supplies were available. This special offer ended on November 1, 2004.
What happened to the credits I earned for renting?
The "frequent rental/purchase program" ended on August 31, 2004. Any credits that you earned under this program are no longer redeemable for free rentals. Earned credits have no other transferable value.
Can I still access my account via the web?
As a result of the operational changes that took effect on January 1, 2005, we had to decide which accounts to move to our new infrastructure. In most cases, those customers who only placed rental orders will no longer have an active account. To determine if you still have an active account, please request your username and password to be e-mailed to you. If your request can not be processed, you will need to create a new account to begin purchasing audiobooks from Books on Tape.
