Title Description
The Satellite Sisters are five sisters out of a family of ten, who find themselves spread across the country and the world. Nonetheless, all five come together to discuss their lives and topics of common interest to all women, from cleaning up bad credit to discovering a breast lump. At first, they did so on the telephone (running up huge bills in the process), but now they do so on public radio, fascinating and enlightening their rapidly growing audience. Each sister's life story emerges from her brief essays: though they have widely diverging experiences of life and equally dissimilar careers, they share a common bond as well. Together, they make uncommon sense, and deliver much good humor to boot.

"The Satellite Sisters are a welcome addition to public radio." (PublicBroadcasting.net)

I loved this book. I listen to the sisters on NPR and found them to be smart, sassy and insightful. I gave this book to my husband to listen to and he loved it too. I am going to listen to it again because there is so much to remember and enjoy again. My only complaint is that I wish the sisters had actually read the book. It was hard for me to remember who was who on the the tape since I am more familiar with their real voices. I really could have listened to their stories and tribulations for another bunch of tapes!! These women are interesting and lived a life that made me want to grow up with them.
