Title Description
5th Britt Montero Mystery
Britt Montero is a Miami reporter who suffers the effects of post-traumatic stress syndrome, reliving the moment she was forced to kill a man. But now's no time for personal problems. A major Hollywood star is in town to film an action movie. Portraying a government agent undercover as a reporter, he's researching the role in Britt's newsroom.
Edna Buchanan's intricate plot deftly weaves their love affair, the unpredictable behavior of an obsessed fan, and the sabotage of the film set. In this catastrophe, the star narrowly escapes with his life. The search for the culprit takes the reporter and the actor into the darkest recesses of the human mind. From Hollywood high life to South Beach street life, Edna Buchanan's Miami is full of vivid contrasts. The city's never been more beautiful -- or more deadly.
"The dialogue is rich and witty." (The Atlanta Journal)

| Since I found this series I have not been disapointed. I am really enjoying the Britt Montero books and will miss her when I complete the series. Anna Fields is a fine reader and -with what she has to work with- makes the hours fly by. I hope that Edne Buchanan continues with more Britt. Edna Buchanan rates right up there with the best.I highly recommend these books to all who enjoy suspenseful listening. |

I had considered giving up on this series, but this book changed my mind. It seemed much wittier than earlier offerings, and the plot -- while burdened with a few credibility gaps -- moves along nicely and holds your attention. And if you're in the car, can you ask for more than that?
The reader is great with the narration; not so great with the male parts. |

| Very enjoyable. I love Britt's sarcastic humor and her warm sensitive side that is more apparent in this book. |
