Title Description
Molly Cates, crime reporter for the Lone Star Monthly, and true daughter of Texas, plans to witness Louie Bronk's execution (Bronk is a serial killer). But suddenly, her boss doesn't want her there, neither does the husband of Bronk's most famous victim. Why should they care?

Then Molly hears a rumor that Bronk was set up -- and the real killer remains at large. But if she follows the lead, it puts her own life at risk.

"An intelligent, complex thriller." (San Francisco Chronicle)

A good - not great - book that does a good job of developing characters and holding one's attention. That being said, I'm not sure Molly Cates would be nearly so likeable if someone other than Anna Fields narrated. Anna is the best!

This is an intelligently written mystery, in which the plot seems realistic rather than contrived, the characters are believable, and the dialog is natural. A big plus is that Anna Fields is an excellent reader.
