Title Description
An Audio Renaissance Production

Doctors Angela and David Wilson think they've found bliss when they join the staff of a state-of-the-art medical facility in a scenic, hospitable Vermont town. Among its many advantages, Bartlet Community Hospital is an ideal place to treat their daughter Nikki's cystic fibrosis.

Yet something is very wrong at Bartlet. The deaths of several terminal patients are puzzling enough, but the unexpected deaths of several children from cystic fibrosis throw Angela and David into panic. Faced with an evasive, then hostile hospital board, they undertake an investigation that threatens not only their careers, but their lives.

I agree with the other reviewer - the setting in Vermont shows no knowledge of the towns or distance between them, or to Amherst, MA. Besides that, I found many other flaws in the story itself. Despite those things, it was fun to listen to, and a good mystery. Pretty similar to many other Cook thrillers.

I thoroughly enjoy Robin Cook's books. However, it is obvious that he hasn't been to Vermont, where this book is set. The driving times are impossible. Dr. Cook forgets there are MOUNTAINS in Vermont. The reader, Michael McConnohie, has also never been to Vermont. His pronunciation of "Montpelier" as "Montpeliay" instead of "Montpeelier" demonstrates that. Come visit Vermont some time!
