Great biography of a man. Somewhat less policy-oriented than "Theodore Rex." As a result, Teddy comes alive, as the perplexing man he was. Morris missed TR's quote about Alice: "A man has enough time to be President or enough time to control Alice, but not both."

I've read a lot of presidential biographies and this one ranks up among the very best, along with Robert Caro's LBJ series and David McCullough's Truman and John Adams. An extremely well-written, engaging, and informative book that brings Roosevelt to life. John MacDonald sustains your interest over a marathon 20 tapes -- good job!

Great book, among the best biographies that I have ever read or heard. I was very entertained as I learned a great deal about this most interesting and unusual of men.
