| I actually started the foundation series with a brief reading of the Psychohistorians, read by William Shatner. Unfortunately, I think he was trying to sound like Captain Kirk instead of Hari Seldon. Enough of that. The reader of this book along with the other Asimov books I have read is impecible. He does accents, pauses, and other things. As for the book, I was not at all disappointed. I had read the trilogy and found that Dr. Asimov held very well to the storyline. This series of books is what brought me to a great interest in mathematics and I can say that though fairly technical in nature in places, he has a talent for making a very interesting storyline from no more than dialogue and description. Don't get me wrong, I like an action packed book as well but in a way, it is nice change of pace and really, in me, it invoked some very deep thoughts.
Overall I would say that this book and the others prior to it are a must for any sci fi reader. In my opinion, Asimov is a genius. |
